2026 Points Champion!

And just like that, the 2026 Colorado National Speedway season comes to a close. I am so dang proud of what we did this season and I couldn’t have done any of it without the 21 crew — thank yous could never be enough, but the biggest thanks goes to my wife, dad, mom, grandpa, sister, Alex and Mateo. My family is absolutely the best. But that’s not all… Mike, Chris, Logan, Rick, Mikey, Darren, Neal — week in and week out, y’all show up for me and there’s no way we could do it without you. What a privilege it is to have the best chosen family that supports the 21 dream.

Throughout my racing career, we never had points as a top priority — not in quarter midgets, the legend or in the GAM… but this season… damn, I wanted it bad. I am so dang proud to have earned the 2026 GAM Points Championship. Saturday night had memories I’ll never forget with people who sacrifice just as much as I do to get our car on the track.

All in all, this season we took home FOUR quick times, but even more, there wasn’t a single race this season that we qualified less than P4. That’s a hell of an accomplishment, if I do say so myself. In addition, we took home 2 feature wins, several more podiums and finished top 10 all but once this season (damn clutch, let me down!)

Now for the recap of Saturday night. We took home our final quick time of the season, and the car was feeling great! I was really optimistic heading into what was meant to be a double feature to finish off the season. And of course, mother nature had other plans. Right when we were getting lined up for the first feature, we got a couple of good lightning strikes and then it dumped rain.

After several hours of weather delay, we finally hit the track for a modified show — a single 50-lap feature event! After the invert, I started P8. I knew going into it that I only needed a top 9 finish to keep my points lead, but of course, I wanted to win — or get as close to it as I could!

I had a strong start and we got through the first 25 laps without any cautions. And then I screwed the pooch. I caused a caution and got sent to the back. I was totally kicking myself… a) because I don’t like to be the cause of any cautions. I do my best to race clean, like I want others to race me. And b) now I was going to have to race my way back up and hope there’s no more carnage.

Talk about a wild turn of events… long story short, I restarted at the back for causing the caution, there were two cautions that happened away from me on the track, and the lineup had me back starting in P4.

I’m not even exaggerating when I tell you that I thought my whole body was going to explode from the adrenaline coursing through me. At this point in the race, I just had to hold my own and keep it together to hit the checkered flag.

We took home a P5 finish. And that secured our points championship. What a rush! And on top of that, my good friend, Nate Gasser, drove a hell of a race and won the main event! It was his first win of the season and it was awesome to see his hard work pay off. He's an all around awesome guy and I'm glad to call him a friend. It has been so much fun to race week in and week out with friends and all of the GAM drivers this season.
