6th Place Finish on September 7

Man, what a weekend! I had high expectations for myself leading into raceday.

We started off strong in practice and qualified second quick behind #24 Nathan Gasser. On the heels of second quick, we rolled a 5 and started 4th in the fast dash - starting on the inside is always a plus!

We made a handful of changes to the car before the fast dash and didn't have as good of a race as we'd hoped. The stagger was off in the set up, and I couldn't quite drive it as hard as I would have liked. I ended up with a 5th place finish in the fast dash.

After a few more changes, we headed out for the 30 lap main event. Of course, the track ran a points invert again, which meant I started at the back of the pack.

Starting in the back comes with it's challenges and unfortunately, we got the short end of that stick. Not even half a lap in, I was involved in a mix up that ended with the right rear slapped into the wall in turn 2. With both left and right rear damage, I knew it would be an uphill battle from there.

The restarts were challenging, but after a couple of attempts, we finally went and stayed green. With as much rear damage as we got, I had to manhandle the car a bit to get it where I needed. At this point, I was racing through the pack and doing my best with the car we had.

I'm pretty confident that the crew gave me a wicked fast car and I'm a little dissapointed that we didn't get to see how fast this weekend.

We continue to learn the car and make changes as we go, trying to get better each time on the track. I'm grateful for my parents, grandpa and the crew that put tons of work in during the week to make each race weekend possible. And of course, thanks to my sponsors for believing in me and the 21 GAM team.

There's one race left this season, on September 21. I'm a mix of emotions - excited, anxious, and all around, ready to get out there again. The last couple of races have been challenging, but here's to hoping we end the season, the same way we started!
