First Win of 2025!

First Win of 2025!

Man, what a weekend! The 21 crew worked so hard to make this weekend possible, there are not enough ways to thank my team. After the rain out last race weekend, and on the heels of quick time for the first two race weekends, I was ready to get to the track and make it happen - and that’s just what we did.

The first two practice sets were solid and I felt really confident that we had a fast car. In qualifying, we proved it. We secured our third quick time of the season (three for three, baby!)

With a strong qualifying run, I started the main on the pole, and happily led all 25 laps. There were a few cautions, and it was a wicked hot day, so especially towards the end both me and the car seemed to be trying really hard to not overheat! Despite solid competition, we had such a strong car and it felt great to get the first main trophy of the season. The $1,000 purse is a nice perk too, as every dollar goes back into the car.

Immediately after the race, I drenched myself in cold water and tried to keep cool with ice packs. You don’t quite know hot and tired until it’s 95+ degrees, and you’re in a fire suit and hot race car. And the excitement and adrenaline absolutely gets your blood pumping even more!

CNS did a great job keeping the show rolling, which meant I didn’t have much time to cool off and rest before the next 50 lap main. We had a pill draw for the starting lineup, so I ended up starting in the 6 hole.

I can’t lie to you guys, the heat exhaustion just really got to me. Starting the race, I didn’t feel my best but I dug as deep as I could, trying to pull it together for the 21 team. Competition was just as strong as the first main, but unfortunately, racing happens and I got a bit tangled up 3/4 of the way through the race. We ended up with body damage on rear end after a spin and a bit of drivers side panel damage from a pile up following the spin, but all in all, it’s fixable and could have been much worse.

We finished the second main event in 7th. While not the way I wanted to end the night, we did the best we could with what we had! We have lots of work to do to get ready for the next race weekend, but thanks to the awesome 21 team, our incredible sponsors and my family, I’m sure we’ll be back in a few weeks, fast as ever!

Big thanks to my dad, mom, gramps, Mike, Chris for the constant help and support.

Special thanks to Tim Cooper, big Rick and our sponsors: Georgetown Railroad Loop, Margie’s Place, Buckeye Welding, Denver West Towing, Matco Tools, MadCap Race Engines, and the rest of our sponsors.

See you on July 4!
